World Charity Day Donkeys oftentimes get abandoned by their owners. In some countries they are slaughtered for their skin which contains ingredients used in some traditional remedies, the Donkey Sanctuary Ireland says on their website. I realised through a news section on RTE how important the Sanctuary’s work really is. It allows donkeys (such a beautiful and very underrepresented animal!) to live in peace and freedom.
On their website, you cannot only give a donation, but also contribute in other ways, such as making a bake sale.
